Mercedes-Benz tuner Carlsson has released a package for the 2012 CLS. The car has not even hit showroom floors yet, but is going to start sales next month.
The aerodynamic kit was designed by Carlsson’s chief designer Rolf Schlepp, and adds new designs to the already sexy body. The kit includes a new front spoiler and RS front spoiler lip, front apron inserts with LED fog lights, stainless-steel grill inserts and power domes for the bonnet. Along with that, the kit comes with mudguard inserts and side moldings with air inlets.
In the rear, they have added a new rear apron with a built-in diffuser as well as a rear spoiler. The exhaust system on the CLS has been upgraded with a stainless-steel rear silencer and double oval tailpipes for unique styling.
Along with the exterior designs, power upgrades have also been added to both diesel and gasoline engines of the CLS.
For the CLS 350 CGI, output is up to 328 horsepower 302 lb-ft of torque…the stock motor puts out 302 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. This also improves the sprint from 0-62 mph to 5.9 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster.
The CLS 350 CDI diesel model achieves a 20% increase in power. The total output is 316 horsepower with a max torque of 575 lb-ft. This is up from the stock 261 horsepower and 479 lb-ft. The 0-62 mph time on the diesel is also 5.9 seconds, as the stock motor achieved the sprint in 6.2 seconds.
The Carlsson CLS can be fitted with either 19 inch or 20 inch light weight alloy wheels which feature a unique design…the single and double spokes alternate in a 10 spoke pattern. Carlsson also lowers the suspension 30 mm (1.18 inches) to the standard Air-matic suspension system.
Interior-wise, the car does not get too many tweaks but does include a alcantara/suede sports steering wheel and brushed aluminum pedals and foot rest.
The CLS is going to be one of the most beautiful cars Mercedes-Benz has ever produced…customize yours upon arrival!
