Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4

Lamborghini has officially named the Murcielago replacement, and it is not called the Jota. The new model will be called the “Aventador LP 700-4”.

According to research, Lamborghini has filed a claim with the United States trademark office for the name. What the name means, we do not know, but usually they name cars after famous bulls.

The Aventador will be stocked with the new 6.5 liter V-12 engine that has an output of 691 horsepower and 509 lb-ft of torque. It will be linked to a ISR 7-speed gearbox. The gearbox is a Lamborghini patent and industry first. It is incredibly flexible and robust, but it only weighs 154 pounds. It shifts in 50 milliseconds!

The Aventador will have a full carbon fiber monocoque chassis, and will sport an F1-influenced rear suspension. It is 200 pounds lighter than the Murcielago with a 3,472 curb weight.

The Aventador is claimed to do the sprint from 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 217 mph. The curb weight is 3,472 lbs.

The big bull also has 2 moving aerodynamic parts: the automated rear upper pillar intakes for engine cooling as well as the 68 by 8 inch automated rear wing, which is truly a sight to see. It was designed by Filippo Perini, head of Lamborghini Centro Stile.

Side intakes are also used by Lamborghini which measure 22 by 10 inches. They aren't just there for show...but for oil and water cooling.

One of the coolest parts of the interior is the digital LCD instrumental panel, which can be modified by the driver. Headroom in the supercar is good for drivers up to 6'5" in height, while total baggage space is just 3.9 cubic feet.

According to recent reports, more than 50 examples of the LP700-4 have already been pre-ordered from Singapore.
