The Hyundai Solaris has debuted…but for the Russian market only.

The engines are expected to be a 1.4 liter, 4-cylinder with 109 horsepower, and a 1.6 liter 4-cylinder with 124 horsepower. The engines will be linked to either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed auto.

The car features the plainest and most basic interior a human can imagine...but the point of this car is size, safety, and economy.

Siberians can add more cold-proofing in the form of heated front seats and mirrors, a de-icer for the wipers, and an emergency stop signal that activates in an accident.

Hyundai is aiming production at 85,000 units between sedan and a five-door hatch. The main competition for this car is the Volkswagen Polo.
