2011 Dodge Challenger SE & SRT8
The 2011 Dodge Challenger gets a minor facelift, buts it’s under the hood that has everybody talking. All of the Challengers engines are either new or upgraded. The new 2011 Dodge Challenger will get a new 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 for the model year. It will produce 305 horsepower and 268 lb-feet of torque, which is a 55 horsepower and 18 lb-ft increase from the 2010 model.
Now let’s compare it to its competitors…we have the new Mustang, which has a 305 horsepower, 3.7 liter V6, and the Camaro which is direct-injected, and has a 3.6 liter, 312 horsepower V6. It will be a fun race between these American Muscles. All the Challenger needs to go past its foes is spice up the interior, and were good to go!
The 5.7 liter HEMI V8 stays the same, but is now tuned to put out 379 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. This is up from the previous models 372 hp and 400 lb-ft.
The Challenger SRT has done away with the 6.1 liter HEMI V8, and swapped it with a new 6.4 liter engine, that puts out 475 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. This is an increase of 50 hp and 40 lb-ft.
The 2011 Dodge Challenger also receives a revised suspension, an improved braking system, and gripper Firestone Firehawk tires.
To help the Challenger sell when first dropped, Dodge will debut with a 392 Inaugural Edition. This edition will feature unique exterior colors, SRT wheels, and a 4-tailpipe exhaust system. Inside, the cockpit will be stocked with white leather seats, brushed metal trim, and a serialized dash plaque for an exclusive touch.
Production will be limited to 1,100 units and they are scheduled to go on sale November 29th.
