BMW has something special in store for the Geneva Auto Show. It will be the world debut of the Vision ConnectedDrive.
This new Vision ConnectedDrive is a two seater that features never before seen design cues from BMW. The styling language is a mix of design ideas from two of the leading Engineers at BMW, Chris Bangle and Adrian van Hooydonk. When you first look at the car you can see some of the new design language we see in future cars like the 2012 6-Series and the 2012 F20 1-Series.
BMW’s future design is going towards the forward leaning “shark” nose, extremely sharp and edgy lines, along with very well distinctive sculpted body lines. Take a glance at the headlamps and taillights, they have the most production indicative features of the whole car and we will definitely be seeing near identical replicas on future models coming in the next few years.
The aim of this concept is to show the world where BMW and Technology will be going. We start with the name: Vision ConnectedDrive. The name highlights BMW's ConnectedDrive technologies that will be used in the Vision ED concept car and the Megacity Vehicle. This system is meant to be completely driver focused, with the goal of making “man” and “machine” one. BMW states, they want to make their drivers, “connected to the world we live in.”
This car is extraordinary! Take a good look at the photo gallery and notice the changing interior mood lighting, the way the car is laid out, and just the way the taillights whisk across the smooth rear body lines. The front angel eyes seem to be the same “white-blue” coloring that the new models are getting currently. Plain and simple, this is an exhibit of automobiles and where they will be in years to come.
We can’t wait…
