BMW is releasing an all-new version of the M3 sedan called the M3 CRT.

The engineers at “M” have used bundles of carbon fiber to make this model a lightweight masterpiece. The car is aimed to show off BMW’s new carbon fiber technologies, as it wears a carbon fiber hood that is as strong as steel but…a quarter of the weight. The seats are also made from full carbon as they are contoured to the driver.

The old M3 muffler has been tossed for a new titanium unit, and lightweight Y-spoke wheels and brake calipers have been brought into the equation. The M3 CRT also wears less sound deadening than the standard model to cut weight and give the car a meaner growl. BMW reworked the suspension with a more rigid subframe and adjustable coilovers.

The curb weight is 3,483 pounds, as the car is stocked with a 4.4 liter V8 engine that has a total output of 450 horsepower and 324 lb-ft of torque. It has a top speed of 180 mph, and is linked to the rear tires and a 7-speed dual-clutch box.

BMW will only be producing 67 examples of the M3 CRT.
